Jeffrey Dale Lashley, a devoted husband, father, coach, and craftsman, passed away on September 1st, 2024 at the age of 68 in Santa Cruz, CA. Known for his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love for his family, Jeffrey will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Born on October 10th, 1955, Jeffrey built a successful career as a contractor, dedicating himself to his craft and taking pride in every project he undertook. His hard work and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him. He shared his talents freely with family, friends, and the community, always eager to help wherever he could. Jeffrey was the beloved husband of Valerie Lashley and a proud father to Tyler and Jillian, and Papa to his grandchildren Makenzie, Tyson and Madisyn, who admired him for his dedication, strength, and love. His passion for family extended into his role as a coach and member of the board of directors for Capitola Soquel Little League. For 12 years, he was a guiding force in the league, coaching his children and many other young athletes with the same energy and commitment he brought to everything in his life. Jeffrey discovered later in life that he was adopted and worked hard to connect with his biological family. He built strong bonds with his brothers and sisters, including David, Erik, Karl and his nephew Jason. He was pre deceased by his adopted mother-Edna Zoble,his adopted sister Shirley Gayle Morphes and biological mother, Phyllis Hoehne. In addition to his many contributions to his community, Jeff was an avid sports fan with a deep love for the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. Whether watching games with family or cheering on his teams, his love for Bay Area sports was a constant source of joy in his life. He also had a deep love for classic cars and his Harley, which were among his cherished passions. These interests reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for craftsmanship, adding to the many joys he found in life. Jeff spent his later years enjoying concerts, listening to his favorite local bands, visiting El Vaquero Winery with his wife Valerie, going on beach walks with the love of his life Valerie, taking road trips, and cherishing time with his family on the Oregon coast. His love for life and adventure will always be remembered. Most recently, Jeff worked for Santa Cruz Nutritionals, where his hard work and dedication helped him forge great bonds, and he was deeply loved by the company and his many friends there. A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held on Sunday, September 22nd at 3 p.m. at El Vaquero Winery in Corralitos. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor his memory.
